5 Reasons Alcohol-Free Women Make the Best Entrepreneurs and Coaches
Going alcohol-free has helped me create the most exhilarating life. For me and tens of thousands of alcohol-free women, ditching alcohol and discovering our fullest potential go hand-in-hand.
I wasn’t miserable before going alcohol-free, lol.
But I always knew I was meant to live a big life and that somehow drinking didn’t fit into the picture. After just a month alcohol-free, I was so much closer to the bold and powerful woman I wanted to be.
The same radical change happens in other alcohol-free women too. They uncover new strengths, find buried, badass qualities that were there all along, and often find themselves looking for an outlet for this brimming energy.
After years of sitting on the sidelines hoping they could, they start writing their book, they speak on stages, they start their own businesses, and they become coaches to help other women like them. And it feels serendipitous, because it is. Their alcohol-free journey is their destiny, and there are certain characteristics all powerful AF women share that make them the best entrepreneurs and coaches.
What qualities make AF women destined for success as entrepreneurs and coaches?
1. They Have Courage
Going alcohol-free requires so many tiny acts of courage: saying “no thanks, I’m not drinking tonight” for the first time, going out and asking for a mocktail, attending your first alcohol-free wedding, partying without alcohol, or winding down after a long day without a glass of wine to “take the edge off.”
(Alcohol does not actually help us relax or party. In fact, it floods our systems with the stress hormone cortisol and conditions our brains to produce fewer feel-good hormones like serotonin, so you experience less awe, wonder, and joy.)
These acts of courage stay in our system. Being bold and courageous becomes second-nature and it continues to serve powerful alcohol-free women as they explore the limitless possibilities for themselves, like becoming a coach, starting their own business, writing a book, or launching a podcast.
Personally, my acts of courage have evolved from stowing alcohol-free removed wines in my purse for wine tastings to 5x certifying coaches and writing my second book.
2. They’re Creative
Alcohol-free women have a lot in common. They’re courageous. They’re resourceful and creative. They’re leaders.
All our actions have a perceived benefit. Otherwise, we wouldn’t do it. Many intuitive and strong women start drinking over the guidelines because there’s something buried deep inside them. These women know they’re meant to live their big vision and lead an extraordinary life.
When they take a break from alcohol, this pull becomes unignorable. Creativity pours out of them.
My first months alcohol-free, I filled journals and journals with writing.
Also in their first months, clients have finally sat down and began writing their books, launched podcasts, taken photographs, and practiced keynote speeches.
They begin to honor their creative mind and give it room to play and flourish instead of drinking over it. , The more time they enjoy alcohol-free, the more their creativity grows.
Getting certified as a coach and starting a coaching practice is a powerful way to channel this creativity because passion, out-of-the-box thinking, and ingenuity fire up business success like nothing else.
3. They Enjoy Deep Stores of Emotional Intelligence
Women who change their relationship with alcohol do it fiercely, while powering through the ups and downs of their journey.
Listening to your intuition and following your soul purpose requires emotional intelligence. As does living in this world without drinking.
You have to feel and not numb your emotions and as you do, your emotional intelligence both for yourself and as a reader for other people grows.
Being alcohol-free requires believing in yourself, holding space for your thoughts and emotions, completing the stress cycle with intentionality, and knowing when to take smart risks. It requires learning when to pivot and when to dig in your heels and show off your staying power.
And this fierce power continues to serve them in everything they do, including living their dream of becoming a coach or entrepreneur.
Because getting started takes time. Close friends and family may not believe in your vision at first. You may have to run some rounds of group programs with just a few people, and you may experience months when you can’t quite figure out how to take your business to the next level.
The average person who faces these challenges will give up.
Not alcohol-free women because they have the emotional intelligence to keep going while continuing to work on themselves and meet their needs.
4. They Have a Growth Mindset
Going alcohol-free invites profound introspective work that fuels women for the rest of their lives.
Most alcohol-free journeys start with a fixed mindset. Drinkers might wonder why they need to change their relationship with alcohol. They might think they “can’t” party alcohol-free, enjoy vacations alcohol-free, or enjoy a wedding without a glass of vino. They might think they haven’t been successful when they tried to take a break before, so they’re bound to fail now too.
A growth mindset embraces possibility.
It starts with questions like, “How is alcohol holding me back?” and “Why do I feel called to make this big change for myself?” and evolves into, “How can I achieve my life’s purpose?”, “What fears keep me stuck?”, “What tools, resources, and rituals get me closer to my big dream?”
Women who develop a growth mindset see their alcohol-free journey as an opportunity to find out what excites them without alcohol, to deepen their relationships, to test their staying power.
And, when powerful women get to the root of their limiting beliefs and ask big questions as part of their alcohol-free journey, that questioning and that work inevitably leads to a greater version of themselves with an even higher aptitude for success. Their lives and businesses burn bright.
5. They’re Confident
In the early stages of Euphoric, people thought I was crazy. They demeaned my “little” business, and a financial advisor even laughed at my naivete, telling me I’d never bring in enough to make a living.
Instead of giving up, I poured myself into my business and the people who did support me because I believed in my big vision.
As a coach, I was confident I’d help other women radically change their lives.
I wasn’t born with confidence. I grew up foreign and shy, convinced I didn’t have what it takes to be extraordinary.
I learned to consciously work on it like any other skill until I began to feel more comfortable in my alcohol-free identity and dreams.
The single most helpful thing on my journey was ditching alcohol. Ditching alcohol showed me I could stick to the things that matter. That I could push against the status quo and stand up for what’s best for me, not anyone else. You reach 100 days and feel like superwoman!
It gave me the confidence that I was a standout badass who could do anything she wanted.
Alcohol-free women aren’t like everyone else.
They have plenty of practice saying “no thanks” to what’s normal. They know everyone might not understand and follow their dreams anyway because they’re becoming the woman they’re meant to be.
Confident alcohol-free women can and do change the world and many of them do it as thought leaders and coaches.
When you pull back the veil of alcohol and begin to live life more fully, your passion and purpose burn bright in everything you do, including your personal and professional life. You hunt down and achieve dreams you didn’t have the courage to honor before.
What proof do I have? The experiences of thousands of women I’ve worked with through my programs. If you’re alcohol-free and you put in the work to grow your courage and sustain your new lifestyle, you have everything you need within you to become a coach or entrepreneur of impact.
